Cowley Road Works delivers a rolling programme of county-wide outreach, creating opportunities to nurture talent, skills, and development and engaging communities through exposure to excellence in arts and culture. CRW is the charity behind the organisation of the Cowley Road Carnival.

 

Cowley Road Carnival is 11 am – 5 pm on 1 July 2018.

The procession will start from The Plain at 12.30 pm and end at the Church of St Mary & St John.

In 2017

  • Cowley Road Works won the Heart FM Oxfordshire Business Award for tourism and cultural event in 2017.  
  • 50,000 people attend Carnival Day. It is the biggest cultural community event in the South East region after the Notting Hill Carnival.
  • The economic spend was £1,054,000 at Carnival
  • 650 people took part in the procession
  • There were 34 venues or stages
  • 76 bands, 22 dance and 20 spoken word performances
  • 84 volunteers
